OMG – Madonna falls off stage at Brit awards LIVE

While we all love Madonna and what she has done over the years, it does show we can all have a bad day at the office. She certainly knows how to upstage everyone.

To be fair, she did carry on and finish her song, even smiling at the end! I wouldn’t want to be the guys who pulled her off the stage though.

Absolutely live, two minutes after co-presenter Laura Whitmore said ‘Who knows what will happen…It’s Live!!’

Cheer up, it’s Monday! Time for a moon-set…

Moon Set

Moon Set

This morning I woke up to see the moon still in the sky. I have tried a few times to capture the moon, but it usually comes out as a blurred spotlight in the sky. The best time to take the moon is when the sky is a little lighter. Taking the moon against a black night sky confuses my poor camera, and it just can’t balance the whites.

You will also need a camera that you can adjust the shutter speed to get the most detail from the moon. Other than that, a tripod and an enormous zoom lens would be good ideas too.

For those who missed the big event of the weekend, or who need a little cheering up this Monday, check out the Whose Blog is it Anyway? from the guest bloggers at Don Charisma’s blog. There are some great comic writings on there and all of them are fantastic pieces of improv.

If you want to read my second attempt at improvised writing, the read my post titled Why isn’t 11 pronounced onety-one?

Enjoy, and have a great week everyone.

Day 4 – Quotes – Monkeys, Typewriters and Shakespeare

We’ve all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

– Robert Wilensky, circa 1996

Today I accepted an impro writing challenge from . The topic has not been revealed, I have never done impro, and I haven’t written more than 50 words in a post on my blog.

Don’s challenge will require a 500 – 2000 word submission, with some witty content no doubt. I hope he has a monkey with a typewriter award, as I’m sure to be the first in line for it…Stay tuned for the results.

A lonely death

100 years gone by
Growing tall and strong
Waiting for someone to come and play
Without warning it was to be my last day

One gust of wind and my boughs were broken
My heart torn in two with no hope to recover
Now as I lie on the ground I see children come close
They sit and climb along my once strong limbs

If I could cry I would shed happy tears
In death no longer alone

I recently read a post from a new blog I followed about the recent bad weather in England. It reminded me of an old tree blown over in the storm which stood alone in a huge park and inspired me to write a short poem – my first in about 30 years!

Here’s the original post – England Weather

Who is Robert de Montesquiou?

And why is he selling a book for a little over £2m on

After investigating some of the most expensive electronics on Amazon, I thought I’d take a look at some of the other areas of Amazon. Traditionally, you’d expect jewelry to be expensive, but I was surprised to see the most expensive piece only came in at £139,000 – hardly worth a mention compared to the most expensive BOOK on Amazon.

£139,000 is a mere 7% of the value of one of Robert de Montesquiou’s most expensive books. And this is just one of 6 books he is selling for over £1m. One of 300 books he is selling for over £10,000!

Clearly the guy has mis-priced these books deliberately, but why does Amazon allow him to even advertise like this?

Perhaps he just dislikes the British because he has the same book advertised on other international Amazon sites for: £2,005,944 $203 €200 €203 €203

And in his native France: €40

Ok, I know the guy is based in France, but I’m sure postage doesn’t cost that much to get a book across the English Channel.

Make a Personalised Christmas Card Review
Price $1 per month to send unlimited eCards

What is

If you want to make a personalised Christmas card this year which will keep your friends and relatives entertained, then is where you can do this. They have a range of eCards where you can upload photos of you and your family or friends and have yourself dancing like an elf.

I was recently on holiday in Germany, and my cousins were playing with the iPhone as usual. Then they showed me the Elf Yourself app – you know, the one where you can put your photo onto the dancing elf? I know it’s not Christmas yet, but these kids were still entertained by the dancing elf – especially as they had personalised it with their best funny faces.

As Christmas is coming up fast – and I know this is a little early but you have to plan ahead sometimes – I thought I would do some research into making a personalised Christmas card, or even better, making a funny Christmas Card with dancing elves. has plenty of funny Christmas cards, but they also have a number of other cool animated cards for birthdays or any other occasion.

If you haven’t had enough of Gangnam Style, then you can do the dance on one of their cards. Personally, I like their Birthday from the Fridge card.

What more could I wish for at Christmas.
